Chapter 01
Diagnostics: finding the fault before anything gets replaced
A service call starts with finding out what the system is actually doing. Weak heat, weak cooling, a noisy indoor unit, a system that quits: a diagnostic visit narrows it down so the repair matches the fault instead of guessing at parts.
Having the right material on the truck matters too. When an Ellensburg office needed a repair during the heat wave, the technician arrived with the exact copper line length needed and finished the repair on the spot.
Customers also mention the small things: email updates and text messages letting them know when the technician is on the way.

Maintenance and cleaning: taking the indoor unit apart, properly
Indoor units collect dust and grime on the coil and blower, and a unit that has gone years without a cleaning loses efficiency and gets noisy. Cleaning one properly means taking it apart with care so each component is cleaned, with a drop cloth down to catch the debris and a clean-up afterward.
Failed parts show up the same way. On a rental, the condenser pump in the upper mini split was replaced and the unit went quiet again, and the main unit was serviced on the same visit.
Once a year is the rhythm we suggest for mini splits. A unit that is cleaned every year is a lot easier to clean than one that has never been touched.
Chapter 03
Leak detection, repair and fireplace servicing
A refrigerant leak usually shows itself as heating or cooling that fades, or as ice where there should not be any. Finding the leak takes manifold gauges on the lines and, after the repair, a vacuum pump to clear the system before it is charged again.
Fireplace servicing sits in this department because of who runs it. Javier Perez has worked in the HVAC industry for the past 15 years, and he has a strong background in the hearth and fireplace industry.
If you are not sure which of these your system needs, call the office and describe what you hear and see. The crew will tell you whether it is a service call, a cleaning or something to look at in person.
