Ductless heating and cooling, zoned room by room, from the Selah showroom
Mini-split heat pumps for homes and offices in Selah, Yakima and the Yakima Valley. Up to eight zones from one outdoor unit, with no ductwork.
Chapter 01
Where ducts are the problem, a mini-split is the answer
Some houses were never built for ductwork. A historic home in Yakima, a rental with a new room on the back, a basement, an attic or a garage the furnace never really reached. Cutting trunk lines through finished walls is the expensive part of a central system, and in plenty of these spaces it is not an option at all. Ductless was made for them.
The basic system is one outdoor unit and one indoor unit fastened together by electrical wires and copper tubing, run through a small opening in the wall. That is the whole install footprint, which is why it suits renovation projects and areas with challenging duct access.
The other problem is a bill. Mike put it plainly in his Google review: “The old furnace was burning a hole straight through my bank account and I needed a quick and affordable solution.” We quoted him, explained the financing options, and had his mini splits on our schedule in about a week.

How we plan a system room by room, starting at the showroom
It starts at 311 S 1st St in Selah, where Mitsubishi wall heads are mounted and running. Stand under one, hear how quiet it is, and speak with an expert about every Mitsubishi ductless model before anything goes on your wall. The showroom is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and Saturday by appointment at (509) 698-2470.
Then we zone the house. One outdoor unit can run up to eight zones, each with its own temperature, and the eight-zone system is our most popular option for homes and offices. You can opt not to use some zones at all, so a spare room is not heated for nobody.
The heat pumps we install from Mitsubishi Electric use Hyper-Heating INVERTER (H2i) technology, a stronger compressor system built to keep heating a Yakima Valley home in temperatures below freezing. Hot-Start brings warm air right away, and the Kumo Cloud app lets you manage everything from anywhere, the beach or your back yard. On install day the crew lays down drop cloths and cleans up behind itself, and we show you how to run the new system.
Chapter 03
Keeping it comfortable long after the install
With a ductless system you will no longer need a secondary heater or cooler through the year. One setup carries the house in winter and summer, and each room holds its own setting.
Filters in each indoor unit are purifying filters, which help relieve allergies. They also collect dust, and so do the coil and blower behind them, which is why a mini split should be cleaned once a year. Our service department, 509 Mechanical Services, takes the indoor unit apart and cleans it properly, including units we did not install. Our team takes pride in continuing to service our clients, even after the purchase has been made.
On cost, ductless runs more efficiently than traditional heating systems and costs less than a traditional installation. Utility companies sometimes offer incentives and rebates for ductless heating too, so ask us what applies to your home when we come out to quote.
