Furnaces, central air and air handlers: traditional heating and cooling from the 509 Ductless crew in Selah

Ducted comfort for the whole house from American Standard, Ameristar and Bosch, installed and serviced by the same family-owned crew that runs the ductless showroom on 1st Street.

Chapter 01

When ducts are the right answer for your house

Traditional heating systems, such as furnaces and central HVAC units, use ductwork to distribute warm air throughout the entire home. If your house already has ducts in good shape, that is a dependable and time-tested solution for whole-home comfort, and it is especially effective in larger homes.

We are named for ductless, and we will still tell you when it is not the answer. Both systems have their strengths. A family that wants one system running the whole house, with a register already in every room, is a good fit for a furnace and central air.

Rooms the ducts never reached are a different story. An addition, a basement or a converted garage is where a ductless zone makes sense, and we install both, so the advice is not slanted toward whatever we happen to sell.

Furnaces and central units from three brands we trust

On the traditional side we install furnaces and central HVAC units from American Standard, Ameristar and Bosch. Three brands, one crew, and the same people who quote the job are the people who show up to do it.

The air handler is the part that moves air through the ducts, so it matters more than it looks. American Standard air handlers are built for quiet operation and advanced humidity control, and they circulate clean air through the house.

Sizing starts with your home, not a catalogue page. We look at the house and pair the air handler with the heating and cooling equipment that suits it. The office books a free estimate, and nothing is priced until someone has seen the house.

Chapter 03

Living with a ducted system after the install

A ducted system asks for very little: a clean filter, an annual tune-up, and someone to call when it starts to sound wrong. Our service department, 509 Mechanical Services, handles the tune-ups and the repairs, because we continue to service our clients even after the purchase has been made.

If you have a furnace you plan to keep and one room that never matches the rest, a ductless zone can sit alongside it. That is an option you can ask about at the quote, not something we push.
